Upgrading from Win95 to W2K on Laptop

By jims ·
I upgraded my Toshiba Tecra 730XCDT to W2K. The operating system does not recognize the Laptop's infared divise.
Any suggestions?

Toshiba only supplies drivers for W95, 98, and NT for your laptop.

You can try searching at www.driverguide.com for a compatible IR port driver.

Also, you can sometimes get drivers directly from Microsoft. So, connecting to MS, and running Windows Update might correct the problem.

I know on some Dell's you have to enable the IR in the bios so you might check there as well...
