UPGRADING FROM WINDOWS ME TO 2000

By cheeva123 ·
I have recently purchased a HP that came with Windows ME. I upgraded this system to Windows 2000 Pro and cant get the modem to work. I can successfully run a query on the modem, I can see the modem with no errors on Com 3, I can hear and see the modem talking to the network of my ISP (compuserve), and I have also checked to make sure I have the 2000 drivers from my lucent win modem from the hp website. What else could be the problem?

no upgrade

I have never performed an upgrade without problems my advice would be to rebuild and load the OS from scratch not upgrade from a previous version. Other wise go into your system/hardware/device manager and uninstall everything then reboot and let Win 2000 find the devices and install its drivers.

Let me know what happens
