Hi
I am considering updating the laptop harddrive in a toshiba laptop. It is 20GB thats in it at present and this is obviously way too small. I have external drives but they are no longer the full solution given the amount of programmes I have installed on the laptop etc
I have changed harddrives in desktop pcs before and have not had a problem, but i have never opened up a laptop before, so I would need some direction on this. Is it difficult? Is there more danger involved that I could damage it?
Also, the laptop came with a ‘rescue windows disk’, not a proper full windows install disk. I believe this to be because windows is on a partition in the drive or something and this disk helps to access it. Its all a bit of a pain but Im sure one of you guys understands that a bit better than me. This must complicate the process of changing from hardrive to new harddrive?
I want to be able to go through the process of changing it over, and then when finished the laptop will switch on and be exactly the same as before, but with a bigger internal harddrive. So how do i do this? I have heard its possible, but do not know how?
ALL help is very very welcome
Thanks in advance
Best
Jason
