Upgrading to a new harddrive

How do i transfer everything i have on one hardrive to a bigger hardrive?

use something like Drive Copy or Norton Ghost. There are a ton of software packages for copying the contents from one drive to another.

Many hard drives come with a utility disk. Or, you can download the utilities from the drive manufacture.

Run the utility in MANUAL mode.

What I do with Western Digital's Data Lifeguard Tools, is:

Install the new drive as Primary Master, with the old drive as Primary Slave.

Boot from a startup floppy for your version of Windows.

Partition and setup the drive.

Boot from the Drive manufactures utility floppy.

Use the copy utility to copy the entire partition(s) over to the new drive.

Shut down.

Remove the old drive.
Change the jumper setting on the new drive to Single (if needed).

Then, your system should boot up normally.
