I am given a project on trying to find some software that I can run on servers that will shut down the UPS systems when they are near the end of their battery run or when the temperature in the room gets too high.
Our battery system is from APC and we actually bought their SW PowerChute but we are looking for an alternative. Does Microsoft has some sort of UPS sw? If it is built in, where can I find it?
Also, the communication path needs to be via network not the serial port.
I’m really new to IT world so I am given this task to do some searching around.
