Urgent - How to set up Microsoft Mail Po

By neel_ind ·
This is a ***** question!

In Win98, there is no Microsoft Postoffice ...(unlike Win95)

I want to setup MS-Mail among a workgroup...to be used with MS-Outlook.

How to go about it?

Although Microsoft Postoffice is not a part of Win98 you can still install it from the Win98 CD. Go to the directory on the Win98 CD \tools\oldwin95\message\us\wms-fax.txt and read the text file on how to install. I use it with Outlook 2000 in an office with 12 workstations on a Netware network without any problems. Hope this helps.

jhatcher nailed it. And you can also install the original FAX program from that location. Be careful if you run a System File Check and see that your mapi32.dll was replaced with an older, much larger file. This is from the older install and is necessary for them to work. Do not restore the newer Win98 file. The new mapi32.dll file from Windows 98 will not support them.
