URL Mask

Hi,
Is there anyway that we could mask a URL, Like if i have to list a port number in the URL, does that create any sort of risk like hacker attack ?
If yes then can anyone please let me know whether can i find any URL masker software so that the portnumber would not be displayed at the browser address?
