Usage of Old Hardware

By parthiv_13 ·
We used to dump old processors, Motherboards etc things. My question is Why the things are not used for Low end use like TEXT data processing etc; or reselled in poor countries by refurbishing; or say Can't we join couple of processors and make a top speed one for use instead of dumping it ? This all thing can HELP environment and other resources. I know that we can use multiple processor in a single row as one processor. Can Techrepublic start that sort of thing to reduce the OLD dump ?

What you are saying is very noble but in reality it may be more trouble than it's worth. Old motherboards would not be dual processor capable. Who is going to test the components and put them together and then support them after that. There also would be not much use for straight text processing.

Everybody always wants the latest and greatest ( even in the poor countries ).

Unfortunately it is a disposable world not only in computers but all goods.

The cost of labour is more expensive than the purchase price of a new piece of equipment.

For example my friend owned a TV/Video repair store. To cover his costs he charged $100 minimum to repair a Video or DVD player.

You can buy a new one for $49
