USB 2.0 256mb Flash Drive Problem

By tyronekay ·
Anyone out there able to help me with restoring my Flash drive to its original state?
I re-formatted this drive from FAT to NTFS without a hitch. In attempting to increase the drive's capacity I compressed it through WinXP. The compression appared to work but the drive is now inaccessible. It shows up as "full" with zero size when checked through properties.(Pie Chart is blue)
Any clues or help gratefully appreciated.

Well,

First off, I recommend that you post technical questions in the Technical Q&A section of the site.

You usually get more and faster response there.

Second, on so small a drive, the overhead for NTFS and file compression just takes up too much space.
I don't remember the exact number, but I believe that NTFS is less efficient for drives under 4 or 5 GB.

As to recovery, check with the drive manufacture for a low level format utility.
