USB 2.0 PCI cards

By howard.schwartz ·
What's the difference between a USB 2.0 Controller card that requires software drivers (such as a PU520) and a USB 2.0 Card (such as IOFlex2580N) that doesn't require software drivers.

If your systemboard BIOS supports USB 2.0 devices, then you do not need software drivers. If your systemboard does not support USB 2.0, then you would need drivers.

IO Flex is relying on Windows "native" drivers for USB 2.0
You will need to download and install the drivers from Microsoft before the card will function.

Personally, I never trust accessories that rely on Microsoft drivers.

Therefore, my choice would be the PU520 in this instance.
