how can I determine if I have USB 1.1 or USB 2.0?


PC has win2000 but that doesnt mean it was upgraded at one time or another

The USB depends on the motherboards that you used. The best way to know is to refer to the user manual of the motherboard or by looking for the hardware spec at the manufacturer's website.

Right click My Computer --> Properties...

Goto Device manager. On the bottom it says:

USB Controllers

Hit the + .... Does it say USB 2.0? If not, it's 1.0

If the machine was made before March 2002, it likely was 1.1. You'll have to look at the machine manufacturer or the motherboard manufacturer to know for sure, but you might get lucky in the identification string of the USB device driver under device manager.

In device manger : universal host controller 1.0


USB2 Enhancd host controller is 2.0
