USB and PS2 mouse

By musicman2000uk2001 ·
In Windows 98 when I have my PS2 mouse connected if USB is enabled in the BIOS it will boot up normally first time but subsequently upon booting it hangs. I am using a wireless PS2 mouse with a wired serial mouse also installed on a Gigabyte motherboard. This setup works fine in Windows 2000 and it only seems to be Win98 (any SR) which has problems. Can you offer any advice???

I hade also problems with USB in my W98 SE.
I had to install a patch wich I found on the Microsoft Homepage. Take a round on the HomePage. The File's name is 240075de.exe for the German Version wich I use. I think the English one should be without the "de" something like this: 240075.exe

"Surf and find out"

I think my motherboard is a Gigabyte GA5AX, but I've got a new motherboard which I will be putting in soon as I though it might have been a hardware fault, so I'll give it a try first and if not I'll let you know.

Thanks
