USB audio? Instead of sound card or intergrated audio

By PaulCom ·
Just wondering if anyone has made a USB flashdrive for use as an "audio card". What I would like to do is use a small USB stick as a replacement for a defective sound device. I've seen some for sale and thought it shoiuldn't be that hard to make....just not sure where to start.

Probably easier to buy one

But remember that as USB is slower than most other interface device types so any sound produced by one of these will be limited in available Bandwidth and most likely to sound choppy rather than a smooth sound.

I figured as much

Just ran out of space on my board, when my intergrated NIC gave out I had to choose between having sound or installing a NIC...I can live without sound...for a while.
I just found out why the board was kind of cheap. Oh well.
Thanks for the reply.
