USB benchmarking utility?

By sjjs ·
Is there a benchmark utility that determines the speed of USB ports? The reason I ask is that I am about to upgrade my USB ports from 1.0 to 2.0 with a PCI USB 2.0 card. I would like to be sure that my system (partitioned into win xp pro & win 98se) recognises the new USB ports as being 2.0.

Thanks for any replies.

Device manager should show the details on the port type.

For W98, you will need the correct driver.

To actually verify the faster transfer rate of USB 2.0, you will need either a loop-back plug, or a USB 2.0 storage device.

While I have not looked, I believe that there are links at www.usb.org to assist you with your port verification.
