USB causes blue screen of death

by mkteagle . Updated 18 years, 6 months ago

Whenever I plug into any of my USB ports I get a blue screen of death with the error message

Stop: 0X000000F4 (OX00000003, 0X8600A788, 0X8600A8FC, 0X80604418)

I’m trying to figure out what is causing this error message. It has to be some hardware in my computer or software because I’ve tried multiple USB peripherals, and they both cause the same problem. It takes anywhere from a couple seconds to a couple minutes of actually dinking around in the memory of the mp3 player or flash drive for the BSOD to come up. If I leave it plugged in, it could be running for days and nothing will happen.

Thanks in advance for your help
