    USB Drivers Install Problem

    Locked

    by fullyfamous ·

I recently built a new computer with an Azza 601BM MB and Celeron 633. I’m using Win98SE. I am having a problem getting my USB ports to work. When trying to add hardware, I get a message that says it will now install the drivers, but the next dialogbox says it can’t find the correct drivers (?!) If I remember right, there is a Code 28 message, whatever that would mean. To put it in a nutshell, how can I get my USB ports to be activated? I want to connect a printer and scanner to my computer.Thanks.

Your problem sounds like Windows doesn’t have the correct drivers for your USB ports. Check the manufacturer’s web site to see if they have the drivers. They should also have instructions on how to install them.

      Hope this helps!

      two things here…

A lot of times the USB is disabled by default in the bios so make sure that is enabled in there.

The other thing you’ll want to do is go to http://www.azza.com.tw/Layout.asp?Page=drivers (no spaces in that address) and download the VIA 4 in 1 driver from there and install it. There will probobly be an IRQ minidriver during this installation, I would suggest that you install that also.

      Good luck to you
