I recently bought an external USB drive. I bought a premade one, as they were on special and cheaper than buying a nice case and drive and doing it myself. Its a Seagate Free agent drive – but not one with any software. Its USB 2.0 of course.
My computer doesn’t see the drive unless I unplug it and plug it back in the USB slot. This is a bit of a pain since I use the back USB slots for it (front are reserved for Camera etc).
Its a Windows XP computer(sp2, all up to date), USB 2 compatible.
Any ideas? A workaround would be fine, I use the drive for backups and media storage, so it doesn’t have to be online all the time.
