USB Flash Drive

By stix1972 ·
I took the USB flash drive out before I clicked on the OK button to remove it. Now it doesn't work on any computer. IS there a way to get it toread again???

I assume that you are using the drive as an external file system. You have most likely lost all data on the drive if it is not readable on any system. The drive usually comes with a cd or program for the manufactures web site to reformat the drive.

Best of luck, I have had mixed results with these units, some stay dead, some you can revive.

If all of your data is lost then you go ahead and reformat it again.

Here is a link to a tool from HP that should work with most if not all USB drives.

I have used it myself and haven't had any problems with it.

The drive more than likely became corrupt,to which you possibly have lost the data.
Try going to the manufacturers web site and see if their are drivers for the usb.
The other option would be to insert in a different usb socket on the machine,go to device manager and see if their is an exclamation mark bside the usb,or you should try using the add hardware wizard

You scrambled its cookies.

You might get lucky with one of these.

Check on the makers site. They should have a utility to reset the drive.
