USB Flash Drive causes WinXP Pro to reboot

By battlelg ·
In at least 3 cases now my end-users using DiskGO 2 USB Flash Drives enocunter a problem where once inserted, WinXP shutdown and restarts. No warning. If the drive remains in the port the system will loop in the boot process. Event Log shows, Source: System Error. Category: (102). Event I 1003. Description: Error Code 1000007e, parameter 1 c0000005, parameter2, 80563ac3, parameter3, f89909f8, parameter4... Can't find anything that clearly describes the event and a solution to this. Does anyone have any experience with a problem of this type?

I have encountered this was when the USB cable was pinned wrong. Motherboard to USB port. Not all USB drives caused it to reboot, but certain ones always did.

In the bios make sure that the "Lagacy usb" is marked "enable".

Then try the usb again.
Hope this works for you.
