I have a SanDisk Cruzer Titanium 1GB USB flash drive that has suddenly stopped working on my Windows XP Home Machine. The device worked perfectly for about three months when suddenly–totally out of the blue–WIndows has started classifying it as an unknown device with no driver installed. SanDIsk claims the driver is native WIndows XP, but I can delete it by editing the Windows registry. Even if I was satisfied with this solution–I’m not; it seems like unnecessary brute force–the specified entries to delete are not present in registry!
Any ideas why my flash drive went wonky? And better yet, how do I fix it?
