I have rebooted after removal of drivers, they show up ok.
I’ve looked into the registry.
I have no USB ports like for a printer, just the LPT1 ports.Topic is locked -

And I suppose your question is
by hal 9000 · about 15 years, 2 months ago
In reply to USB Help
How to make the USB Ports work right?
Firstly it would help to know what’s happened here.
But if this has been reloaded you’ll need to install the USB Drivers and probably some of the other M’Board Drivers as Windows XP doesn’t have drivers for everything in it so you need to go with the M’Board Makers Install CD to install the different Chip Set Drivers and so on.
If you look here you can pickup the latest available drivers for this M’Board though I don’t think that a 150 MEG HDD is correct
The file that you need for the USB is called
Intel-S3XP.zip
Which you’ll need to download Unzip and then install to get the USB Ports to start working maybe this all depends on what happened to stop them working in the first place.

In reply to And I suppose your question is
Had already attempted that patch to no avail, also noticed that I only have my 4 comm ports and no usb ports posted. You are correct that it should have been a 150 Gb Hdd. The ports look normal and if you plu something in…nothing happens. I’m guessing my PnP doesn’t work.Karen’s Computer Profiler v2.5.1

Select Proprieties then Hardware then Device Manager and look for any yellow circles with a black Exclamation mark through them.
If there are any present these are uninstalled Devices and you need to take the M’Board CD insert it into the Optical Drive then right click on the uninstalled device and click Update Driver then point the Install process to the M’Board CD.
If you have everything working properly look at the bottom listing of the Device Manager and tell me what USB Devices are installed if any.

Device Clue ?

In reply to Click on Start then right clink on My Computer
There are two things I noticed after an exhaustive search. The first thing I noticed was the device manager under display by connection and show hidden sevices: The USB Root Hub; Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)
To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer. Secondly; under device manager view devices by type: Non_Plud and PLay devices – pfModNT This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed. (Code 24, and NVIDIA NDIS IO Controller Driver This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed. (Code 24), and NVIDIA Port IO Control Driver This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed. (Code 24): all these three have the yellow exclamation mark inside a yellow circle on a grey diamond.-

Well start off by installing these devices
by oh smeg · about 15 years, 2 months ago
In reply to Device Clue ?
By right clicking on them and choosing Install but you’ll need the M’Board CD in the Optical Drive.
For the device that is not working try the repair option and if that doesn’t work you can try to manually set the IRQ and the like till it does work.
