usb port

the USB ports on the motherboard dont seem to be working, when i plug anything in , nothing happens the PC does not detect it and the lights on the device dont not come on. i check the usb function in the bios is enabled and install all of the motherboard drivers
this is my motherboard link :

my os is windows xp sp2 or sp3

Go to Control Panel,

System, Device Manager and expand universal Serial Bus Controllers.

Ensure that the are no conflicts or disabled items.

If there are no problems I suggest you contact MSI.

Remove Them

Assuming there are no conflicts within Hardware Device manager, I would try removing them, rebooting the PC and allowing Windows to rediscover the USB architecture.

Also have you as yet updated the OS

From either the Windows or Microsoft Update Server.

If you look at the Listed Drivers for this M'Board on MSI's Web Site it clearly says

Note: For WinXP, please use Microsoft Windows Update to download driver from Microsoft or aquire the latest service pack

So I'm assuming that there is a Patch or new Driver available from the Microsoft Update Server.
