USB port stop responding

By icysugar ·
I have two printers attached to my computer, one through LPT port and another through USB port. Very often, I get "Printer not responding" message when try to use the printer attached through USB port. The one through LPT never has problem.
Sometimes, I also connect my digital camera or plug flash drive in other USB ports. I notice the similar problem. The camera or flash drive can not always be detected.
So far, the only way to make the USB port work again is to reboot the computer.

This is a tech. problem, in search of a solution.

It properly belongs in "Technical Q&A," not in "Discussions." Please re-post there.

Not only will you be more likely to attract the attention of those seeking to provide answers, but you will also make it easier for those seeking discussions to find such.

Thank you.

Maybe the device is drawing too much current...

or dropping the voltage too low. Try a POWERED external USB hub.
I have had similar problems in the past and have worked around by using a powered USB hub.
