USB Root HUB Driver - Management Power- Bring PC out of standby don't work

By tonybh ·
Device Manager\USB Root HUB Driver\Power Management Tab\Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby => it is grayed, it is not possible to mark or un-mark it.
My MothBoard: Asus P5B Premium series. I looked at the Bios and did whatever was possible to do.
How to get this option back in normal selectable option?

Ports 3 and 4

by TheChas In reply to USB Root HUB Driver - Ma ...

Looking at the ASUS manual for the P5B Premium, it looks to me like there is not the level of control you desire for the wake on USB.

USB ports 3 and 4 are set aside for the ASUS remote control feature with the caveat that any other USB device plugged into those ports will turn the PC on.

As to the BIOS option settings:

Advanced tab, USB Configuration:
USB features and ASAP should be enabled.

On the power tab, APM configuration:
Enable Power On for both the PCI and PCIe devices.

Once you change these options, you may need to remove the USB devices and root hub from device manager and then allow Windows to detect and install the drivers again.

Still, from my read of the ASUS manual, there is only a wake on USB from the ASUS AI remote.
