USB sound card not working

By frawser7917 ·
If I connect the speaker to the rear audio
port, I am hearing the sound only from one
speaker. If i connect my speakers to the front
audio port, i can hear sound from both the
speakers. It is found to be a Motherboard
issue. So I bought a USB 3D sound card and
connected that to the rear USB port and it was
working fine. Speakers are connected to the USB
sound card. If i connect my Headphones to the
front audio port, i have to go into control
panel to change the default audio output from
USB audio device to Realtek Audio. Then i can
hear sound from the headphones. If I want to
hear sound from the speakers i have to repeat
the step to change the default audio device to
USB audio. Now the problem is, that the USB
sound card stops working after a single
restart. I had replaced the USB sound card
about 3 times but no use. After a single
restart there would be no sound from the USB
sound card. I don't know if it is a hardware
conflict between the Realtek audio and USB 3D
sound card. Can any one help me in resolving
this issue?

How many USB ports are in use?

by OnTheRopes In reply to USB sound card not workin ...

I forget what the maximum USB power draw is without having need for a powered USB hub but try unplugging some other USB ports, if you have a lot plugged in, and see if your issue resolves itself.

You also might do better to post your question on the Questions forum instead of the Discussions forum. Go to any forums page and "Ask a Question". There's a different crowd that hangs out on the Question forum of TR, they may be able to help. Don't forget to mark any answers helpful if they do help you out.

Did you unplug it and see if your sound card works?

by OnTheRopes In reply to One USB webcam is plugged ...

Admittedly, one web cam doesn't seem like it'd draw too much power but without knowing the specifications right off of the top of my head I can't say.

You really ought to post on the Questions forum too, not to nag you about it, but that's a much better place to get answers that may really help you.
