USB sound card stopped working

By frawser7917 ·
If I connect the speaker to the rear audio
port, I am hearing the sound only from one
speaker. If i connect my speakers to the front
audio port, i can hear sound from both the
speakers. It is found to be a Motherboard
issue. So I bought a USB 3D sound card and
connected that to the rear USB port and it was
working fine. Speakers are connected to the USB
sound card. If i connect my Headphones to the
front audio port, i have to go into control
panel to change the default audio output from
USB audio device to Realtek Audio. Then i can
hear sound from the headphones. If I want to
hear sound from the speakers i have to repeat
the step to change the default audio device to
USB audio. Now the problem is, that the USB
sound card stops working after a single
restart. I had replaced the USB sound card
about 3 times but no use. After a single
restart there would be no sound from the USB
sound card. I don't know if it is a hardware
conflict between the Realtek audio and USB 3D
sound card. Can any one help me in resolving
this issue?

Look in Device Manager

See what it is using for resources. Also check other devices to see if they are using the same.

Also make sure it does not show up as 'disabled'

when switching, and the sound card stops, try also (as a test) to disable the realtek card, then switch. See if that allows it to work.

Have you thought of using the Headphone jack

In the speakers?

Most Modern Computer Speaker systems have a Headphone Jack in them and have done for a very long time. This should stop the sound to the speakers as there is a switch in the jack to stops any output to the speakers.

I haven't seen any Computer Speakers in the last 5 years

Without this option. Maybe you should consider buying another set of Speakers and forget about the Front Panel Headphone jack.
