PROBLEM:
I’m stuck in a situation where I have to dictate policies to users on a single computer. Included in those policies need to be things like restricting internet use and access to certain local folders. I’m not so concerned about the access to folders as I am dictating the policies and internet use. My biggest problem is dictating the policies to only authenticated users or users of certain groups. I don’t want power users and administrators to be affected.
GENERAL INFO:
I know that in Windows 95 you can set up policies for every single user that logs on to the PC or any group that logs on to the PC. When I started thumbing through the different snap-ins in XP, i found the RSoP which would allow me to view each user’s policies but not do anything about it. The group policy editor seemed useless in this situation as it applies the settings to everyone who logs on to the computer.
