User Authentication

Have users in a remote office running W2K Pro SP1 on the desktop with an NT4 SP6a BDC in the same office. Problem is users from the remote office often authenticate across the WAN to our NT4 SP6a PDC making for very slow logon/logoff. Is there any way to ensure or force them to authenticate to their local BDC?
