User can't access some sites.

Some of my users using Windows XP can't access some site like hotmail.com. It fails intermitently.

Since it is failing intermittently, checking the hosts file may not be the solution, but...check the hosts file (c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts). It is a text file, so open it in a text editor. Look for a hotmail entry being routed to 127.0.0.1 which is local machine. If you find more than a few entries in the Hosts file which you did not set up, the likely culprit is Kazaa(Lite). The p2p app adds a LOT of hosts entries routed to local machine to prevent pop ups. Assuming this does not solve it, what sites beyond hotmail are failing? It sounds like there could be problems at the gateway, or problems with your service provider's pipe as well. If you could add to this info a list of other sites (or does it seem to act this way with ALL sites...) and your network configuration from the service provider's linetype to your own infrastructure, it could be helpful in resolving this issue.
