I'm running WinXP on a laptop. Whenever I start the computer I get the following message:
User Environment - Windows cannot load the user's profile but has logged you on with the default profile for the system. - DETAIL: A required privilege is not held by the client.
On the above message there is a 30 second timer that automatically shuts down my computer and restarts it only to come back to the same message and another restart.
I've tried safe mode and system recovery but that has not fixed the problem.
Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

Log into safe mode as administrator and create another user (which will create another profile). Log in normally using the newly created user account. You should be able to copy your files from your original profile (favourites, templates etc).
As for the 30 second timer - sounds like a virus. Update your virus definitions and run a scan on your laptop
If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.
