User ID and Domain

By rsaidur ·
There is any way we could have same user ID and Domain stay in the logon window. When we press ctrl-alt-del and we put the user ID and select the domain to login but when we try to login again the same user ID and domain stay there. So I don't want that, I want one user ID stay all the time no matter who logged in before.

Open the Registry Editor and navigate to this section of the Registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE
\Microsoft
\Windows NT
\CurrentVersion
\Winlogon

To keep the same domain name use:

DefaultDomainName

in the same location in the registry. Its a string and can be just set to the domain name of the user account.

Almost forgot:

DontDisplayLastUserName

(same registry location) - this may need to be changed to 1 to prevent the last username overwriting the default one you set. Experiment.
