User ID = “” – Can’t get rid of it

Due to an unfortunate mishap, Windows 98 had to be reloaded. When it did so, no user name (“”) in system Information, and no .pwl file (for obvious reasons). Other than not being able to save settings, it functions normally. The new user profiles I created work great (save passwords etc) What I would like to know is: Where in the registry I can change the user name or…Trick the system into booting and restarting into a created profile or… Adding a command on bootup and restart to Logoff (this brings up the missing logon screen. Thank you.
