User login error

By dean-marcel ·
Hi all,

I currently use my laptop for my business as a web author. It is an 'Time Traverler' AMD 1600 with 348Mb Ram running Windows XP Home.

One of the problems I have is that I have configured it so that my family have seperate logins and desktops (all user only). My own login is fine, but all other logins have the 'System32' folder open when the log-in (I have checked the settings for WinExplor). Occasional error message appears "Cannot open ESB.ini system tray!" (ESB is Editable Start Buttons feature on Laptop)

Can anyone explain how this has happened and how to cure it?

Is there a way of stopping other users from opening files, applications or folders on XP Home? I have tried making the folder my login only but option tomake private is greyed out & not selectable?

Yours Dean...

Probably the error is caused, because you have 'administrator' or 'power-users' rights and your family members do not. Try it out by giving the other members more rights to the local system, just for testing. If you notice that the problem is gone, you know it's a rights issue.

Thanks Colin,
Unfortunatly, I haven't the time to start searching through a database, I might try backing up the users login data, deleting and re-creating the users to see if it solves the problem.
