User profile load issue

By rapell ·
Hi techies, I need some help on the above issue; it happens both on Windows XP and 2000. The problem is that for a particular user, everytime she logs off, she loses all her settings, including drive mappings, printers etc. I have run the hive cleanup tool, but in vain. The users have mandatory profiles setup in a windows 2000 server environment. Another issue is that for other users, the profiles load but keep mapping the old network printer(client setup, shared), even when I delete it and install the new one, it reappears on next logon. Could anyone help out on these issues? Thanks for everything.

"The users have mandatory profiles setup in a windows 2000 server environment."

By default a mandatory profile will not allow you to overwrite the settings -- so if her settings are lost, everything is functioning correctly.

The other users could be loading old connections due to mandatory profiles (so their new drive mappings aren't saved when you log them out and log them back in) or a login script which is still mapping the old drives.

And another thing. You are very lucky anyone even responded to you since you only awarded 30 points on an issue that requires quite a bit of explanantion.

Actually I had the idea, and had sorted it out for some users, just thought I could repair it in some way without having to lose the man profs and recreate them. Oh, and I have few points for a rainy issue. Thanks anyway.
