User profiles settings in Windows ME

By nebheprura ·
I was wondering if it is possible, while using Windows ME, to create user profile for teenager and configure settings so that adult sites, restricted sites, shady chat rooms, etc. can be locked out to that particular user? I would like to create profile for teen without admin rights and create profile for myself with admin rights for whole computer. I have been trying to find a way, but settings do not seem to exist for this scenario.

Unfortunately, WinME just isn't capable of restrictions such as this. There may be third party apps to handle these things but they?d be easily bypassed by most savvy teens. If you really want the protections native to the OS you're going to have to move to Win2k or WinXP Pro.

I know many people don't like the "you have to upgrade" spiel due to budget or just plain hassle but in this case it's necessary to get native OS support for true admin type restrictions. WinXP Home doesn't allow many of the more advanced restrictions so you would be better off with Pro if you do upgrade.
