User wants selection printing

By PowerIon3 ·
We have a 100 user enviorment and have set policy editor to remove *File* from the Internet explorer the Menu bar. This does not allow the user to print a selection of a web page. selecting the desired text and pressing control+p will allow for selection printing on some sites since it is a function of the web page. If anyone knows how to grant the full functions of print and still have the security to keep users out of specific areas please respond.

Well that's a tad technical

If there isn't something out there that will do it for you. Can you only disable top level menu items in policy editor ?

Essentially re-enable the file menu and then disable the menu items you don't want available you need to hook into IE and intercept the request to display the file menu. Run through the list (disable all options and then enable the ones you wish to allow).

Here's a starter on what you need to know

Not sure it's worth the effort, personally.

With the file menu disabled, can't you still right-click on the page and select print?

You create 2 different GPOS and grant one set of users rights to print and deny it to others.
