User.exe problems.....????

By debbie_horton ·
Does anyone have any ideas to solve invalid page faults with USER.EXE? We are using Corel WordPerfect 8 with DocsOpen as our document management program. We are also using Groupwise 5.5 for e-mail. I have been getting both errors:
"WPWin8 causedand IPF in module USER.EXE"
and "NOTIFY caused an IPF in module USER.EXE"
This has happened on a Compaq Deskpro w/ WIN95 and also on Compaq Prosignia w/ WIN98. Any ideas would be appreciated.

You aren't the only one having problems with WP8 and Groupwise/Novell network running at the same time. Does this happen when you close a document?

Uninstall/reinstall both WPWIN8 and Groupwise client...

For Win98 you have access to file checker,go to Start-Programs-Accessories-System Tools, click on thei to open window, then click on the tools tab in the drop down menu click on file checker and name the file ,it will ask for WIN98 disk.
Both may befixed if you have a system repair disk that you can install the recopy the files at start-up.

I'm sorry to hear that you too have to work with the Corel 8-Novell scenario. Have you tried going to the Corel site & downloading their Suite 8 service Pacs (I believe they are on #7 now)? It solved some of the problems my users were having with the user.exe issues, but not all.
