On a Win NT 4 Workstation box w/ SP6a, I’m getting “WinLogon.exe – No Disk ‘There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive A:'” and “userinit.exe – No Disk ‘There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive A:'” errors upon logon. This occurs using any user account. Technet suggestions for the WinLogon.EXE error message were no help; none exist for the userinit.EXE. According to the user, no changes were made to the machine, i.e. opened email attachments, installed or removed apps, etc. A virus scan w/ the latest definitions turned up nothing. The only thing that occured slightly out of the ordinary was that Outlook ’97 froze and then was killed using Task Manager. On the reboot, the messages appeared.
