Hi, I maintain a small network. consisting of 2 companies sharing 1 ISP line, which goes into a Cisco ASA5505 box and then splits into 2 diffrent Domain Controllers since each has thier own domain…
So the issue is, most users (some XP,some 7 x64) lose thier mapped drives, and get authentication boxes randomaly. but usually around 5:30-6:00pm daily.
A reboot fixes the issue and the internet still works just fine during this time.
The single server, acts as, DC,DNS,AD,Fileserver and the ASA is the DHCP.
I have a feeling it is related to “DNS” but I did not do the initial setup of any of this (only the ASA i installed one year ago) I do beleive this issue is rather new and maybe only after having the ASA is it an issue, but thats not for sure..
SO i am hoping for any help on this situation as it needs to be fixed.. I will get the Event Viewer logs asap and let you know what they say”
off the top of my head from one of the XP client machines around the time it lost its connection said “the scurity system detected an attempted downgrade attack for server xxxdc” but more commen was the “The security system could not establish a secured connection with the server xxxdc, no authentication protocol was available” ” and I know there was a few Active directory type machine could not be found, something along those lines..
