I’m a network administrator for a small accounting firm. With the exception of just a few support stall the users mail is kept in a pst file on their laptops. The Partners of the firm say they want to keep it this way so they can have their e-mail with them at all times and so they can respond to e-mails or read them while they are traveling. The problem is they want to keep 4 years worth of e-mail in their pst files. Along with e-mail,their journel files and everything else. The major problem I have is the fact the managing partner uses his deleted items folder for mail storage too. We are using outlook 2000 with an exchange 5.5 server acting only as pop 3 mail server It is a very small server with very few resources. Along with calendar, contact sharing these pst files are constantly exceeding 1.5 GB in size. These people refuse to delete items or remove attachments from the mail to help reduce the size. Anybody know of a way to work around this?
