Users still connected.at shutdown proces

By spaz_mx ·
I have noticed recently that when I get ready to shutdown my computer it comes up with a message box advising me that 1 user is connected to my computer and if I shut it down they will lose their connection. This has gotten my curiosity up and I would like to know who is connected and even when it suppose that I haven?t shared resources or the people whose I shared the file has gone?
Thanks ahead of time.

Operating system?

make it easy on yourself and download some free tools at:

http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/pstools.shtml

psloggedon.exe specifically shows you who's logged on locally and via resource sharing.

(compatible withwin2k and NT 4.0)

hope that helps,

jb

at a command prompt type net session this will list off the computers attached to you.

or get netmon from the reskit(?) or win95 tools this will show you how is logged on also.

Hi there

The easiest way to determine which users are connected to your computer and also to see which files they are accessing, how long they have been connected for, how long the connection has been active/idle is to click on Start, select Run,and when the dialogue box appears type:

netwatch

This will launch the netwatcher program which presents you with an easy to understand display of all the above. It will also list all the shares available on your computer, including shares thatonce were active but which for some reason are still flagged as available!! You can also stop sharing resources from within the program.

Even if the user who used to access your system is gone, there may be an old network drive mapping still left out there.

Use the NET SESSION command to figure out what's going on.
