Using a Cisco 2600 As Firewall

by bigbaddave15 . Updated 18 years, 9 months ago

Hello,

I am currently looking to use a Cisco 2600 series router as a firewall for a small lab that my company has put together for testing purposes. We are not looking for a full fledged, complete firewall, but rather something that will simply prevent unwanted traffic and intruders. I suppose this can be done with a series of ACL’s, but does anyone know where I can find any configs for this sort of thing. I checked Cisco but didn’t find much. Im thinking they want you to buy their firewall module, not use an old 2600 you have sitting around as a firewall. Thanks in advance.
