I have a Compaq Presario 1700XL275 with an ATI Rage Mobility 8mb (has s-video and monitor outputs). The s-video works great with a TV, however, the monitor output does not work with a monitor.
I have tried several monitors. I know the monitors are good, connections good, and power is on, but no signal is given from my laptop.
Friends have suggested using the Function Key (nothing works) and a bios setting (no display settings found). And there is nothing that I can find under “settings” when right clicking on the desktop. (Running Win XP) And I have done a clean install with XP, so I do not have any Compaq crap on my hard drive (although the Compaq crap is probably what I need to make this thing work; though I have no other problems).
Any advice will be much appreciated!
