Using an Sql query to update a date field in Access results in a US date

By jdbee ·
I need to insert a date into a date field in access using VBA code, but when I do, it converts to US Format - i.e. 4th October turns into 10th April. All settings on my PC is in Aus locale. I have read posts about other users having this problem but I cannot find a specific article on how to get around this - Can you help me ??

use an unambiguous format

e.g
YYYYMMDD or YYYY-MM-DD

You also might want to check the date time formats in regional settings, sometimes they end up half and half, I've seen UK locale with date format of mm/dd/yyyy before now.

Personally I never rely on locale for entering or displaying dates. Too damn flakey for me.
