using an XP program on Windows Vista

By dons_junebug ·
I had my son install my Broderbund Platinum 15 program (using a jump drive)with addresses, on my new computer which has the WinVista. The program is there, all of the addresses that I need are there, however, I cannot get them to print when I try to make address labels using this program. It tells me that there is an error and to insert the disc. It worked fine on the XP version. Basically, I do not want to have to re-input all of the addresses into the new computer. Is there a way to make this program work on the new system?? I am not really computer literate, I am just a housewife trying do make my moms life a little easier, with address lavels. Thanks for your help in this matter.

try compatibility mode

right click the program on the desktop choose properties, click the compatibility tab, check the box to run in XP compatibility mode.

also make sure your printer is install correctly on windows vista and that you have windows vista drivers for it.

The problem may not be the program itself but that Vista doesn't support your printer.
