Using APPLY in Settings in Display.

By roameri ·
My P4/WIN98 S.E. went into some sort of hangup and I had to start in SAFE Mode. The monitor resolution went to VGA 640x480. Now when I go to Display and change to SVGA 800x600 I cannot get to the APPLY button as the that menu doess not come fully. Even ALT+A does not woork, how do I get to do it?
Thanks

Boot to Safe Mode, click on the Display in Device Manager,if their are double entries in this list delete each one.

Now you will need to reinstall the adapter using the software drivers that accompanies the graphics card, also you will need to visit the graphics adapter manufacturer web site and download the latest drivers

Make sure that the monitor listed is the monitor connected to your machine,if not click on the cahnge button and select the monitor from list and then lick OK

on the display screen, put the curser on the blue bar at the top of the screen. while holding down the left mouse button, move the screen as far up as possible..this should let you see the top of the boxes that say "ok", "cancel", and "apply". the apply button will be the one at the far right.
Good luck!

In addition to answer2. In safe mode you can't change resolutions. The only resolution available is 640x480. You can change it only when you boot in normal mod.
