USING DHCP WITH ROUTER

I have small network running several nt4 and win 2000 and xp clients with one server win 2000. I want to share a cable modem. Isp uses dhcp. Is it best to enable the router DHCP or the win2000 server be DHCP server for network. I assume the win 2000 server would still be DNS server.. Whats the best way doing this..Thanks
