Hi, I am trying to use my old Virgin Media home hub 2 to extend my wireless network. I have followed instructions online to change the IP address from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.10, router then resets and then I can get back into into by typing new IP and turn off DHCP However after a few minutes it seems to forget the IP address completely. I have looked at ipconfig on PC and the Default Gateway is now blank. I can then reset router and get back on original IP address. Is there any reason the IP address keeps disappearing from the router? I have tried several different IP address like 192.168.0.2 but all seem to do the same.
I have followed online guides but can’t find anything about this. Thanks.
