Using Sysprep in Windows 2000 Pro

by erikdr In reply to Using Sysprep in Windows ...

What's the exact question?

As kind of FAQ, here is the normal sequence to follow:
1) Make the master desktop with W2K Pro and apps
2) Run SysPrep on it to de-personalise it.
3) With PQDI, make the image and clone this to new workstations.
4) Upon first bootup, the workstations will ask the admin to fill in the ws-specific info and join the domain (NT Server or W2K ADS).

So this requires manual intervention per ws. This too can be automated but assigning the 'right' id's to each ws canbe a bit of a pain. More info when you zoom in to your questions...

Hope this helps,
