Using the iPad in a piconet

I’ve been trying to determine whether or not the iPad can be used in a piconet. Documentation says that it can support the Bluetooth PAN profile, but there is little other information available.

my initial guess would be that it would take some hacking/jailbreaking to get this to work.

For the iPAD pan profile it says:
“Internet tethering is not supported.”

(of course, what else would most people use it for!)
